• Is everything that YES Academy offers free? Even a laptop and Internet service?
YES! Everything. You may already have a computer that you are comfortable using, and it is likely that you will be able to use that computer for your YES! Academy classes if you choose. Also, if you already have high-speed (not dial-up) Internet service, then you can use that as well.
• Does YES Academy use Rosetta Stone for teaching foreign languages?
YES! Rosetta Stone is our main provider of world languages. PowerSpeak is also an option for foreign language coursework with YES! Academy, but the choice of which program to use is up the the student and his or her family.
• Can I take any of the 31 world languages that Rosetta Stone offers?
YES!
• Is it true that I can enroll part-time or full-time?
YES! Personalization and flexibility are hallmarks of YES Academy.
• Is it true that I can take classes through YES Academy even if I plan to earn my degree somewhere else?
YES! Please contact us to evaluate your personal situation.
• If I want to earn my degree from YES Academy is it true that I can graduate with as few as 20 credits?
YES! The number of credits will range from 19 - 24 and will depend on your Individualized Learning Plan. Tell us how you want your school to work to help you achieve your goals, and YES Academy will do it!
• Does YES Academy accept courses earned through other schools in Michigan, out-of-state schools, homeschool credits, etc?
YES! If you earned it, we accept it! Transferred credit will fully apply toward your Individualized Learning Plan.
• Is it true that I can enroll anytime in YES Academy?
YES! You can begin your YES Academy experience at any point in the year.
• Can I take dual-enrollment (college) courses and will YES Academy pay for them?
YES! There are laws that we must comply with, but dual-enrollment is definitely possible!
• Does YES Academy ever say “No” to anything?
Yes, but only rarely. If we can say “Yes” then we will say “YES!” |
