About YES Academy

  • YES Academy is designed to reach out to all students grades 6-12 in a 10 county area, including Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Lake, Leelanau, Mason, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford Counties.

  • The driving force behind the success of YES Academy is personalization. YES Academy will support each student in reaching his or her own goals, successfully preparing them to take the next step forward in life - college, trad e school, military, or workforce.

  • At YES Academy students can earn their high school diploma and beyond, or take non-diploma courses in a variety of creative, innovative, and traditional ways.

  • YES Academy is a public school that offers free tuition. Furthermore, free laptop computers and free high-speed Internet access are provided for any students who need them.

  • Students can complete coursework any time of day or night - literally 24/7/365 - in order to meet their unique scheduling needs.

  • YES Academy is partnered with K12 / Aventa Learning and Rosetta Stone, a company that services over 1000 school districts throughout the US with proven success. Aventa offers award-winning, online curriculum in 140 courses and 19 AP courses. Quality multi-media instruction presented through Video, Voice, Avatars, Flash Animation, Manipulative, and Interactive Games foster comprehension for every learning style.

  • Students will be supported with their own online Highly Qualified teacher as well as a certified mentor teacher to meet their needs. Individualized progress reports will help keep them focused and on track toward their goals.

  • The strength of YES Academy student achievement is supported by partnerships with Rosetta Stone, PowerSpeak, the Michigan Virtual University, and local colleges (dual-enrollment).
